He Expires in a Relative's Arms at St. Joseph's Catholic Hospital. William Farrell, who lives near Quarryville, died suddenly on Sunday afternoon at ST. Joseph's Catholic Hospital. About two weeks ago Farrell came to Lancaster and went to the hospital for treatment. He had been a sufferer from heart trouble for some time. On Sunday morning, about eleven o'clock, he left the hospital and walked to the residence of his sister, Mrs. L. B. Snyder, at the corner of Pine and Chestnut streets. He partook of a hearty dinner and appeared in unusually good health. Between two and three o'clock he left the house to go to the hospital. Immediately on mounting the steps of the hospital and getting inside, he said a few words of greeting to his sister-in-law, Mrs. Hickey. Suddenly he fell forward and dropped into Mrs. Hickey's arms. When he was laid upon the floor he was dead. The over-exertion of the walk to and from the hospital, no doubt, hastened the fatal attack. Deceased was about 34 years of age. He was a farmer by occupation. He was a son of the late Timothy Farrell and a brother of Frank Farrell, deceased, who was well-known in this city. Deceased leaves a wife, but no children. The body will be interred in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery. The Lancaster Daily Examiner, Monday, January 20, 1890
