Samuel Flory, a Former Resident of This Borough, Wanders from the Almshouse and Dies Near Neffsville. Samuel Flory, an inmate of the county home, was found dead in an outhouse in a school yard near Neffsville on Fraiday afternoon by Benjamin Musselman, who lives in the neighborhood. Word was sent to Dr. E. H. Witmer, of Neffsville, who immediately made an examination. He believed that life had been extinct for a considerable time. Coroner Shank empanelled the following jury, who held an inquest: Jacob Stark, S. Kratzer, Andrew Reidenbaugh, Wm. Kratzer, Monroe Witmer and Henry S. Shissler. Dr. E. H. Witmer acted as Coroner's physician. A verdict was rendered that deceased died from paralysis, superinduced by exposure. A number of articles were found on the man's person that disclosed his identity. The body was removed to the almshouse, where he had formerly resided, and from which place he wandered away. His wife, Mrs. Sallie Flory, resides with a nephew, A. Frank Eberly, at Lancaster. A son, Abraham, and a brother, John Flory, tipstaff at the Court House, also survive. The deceased was between sixty and seventy-five years of age. A number of years ago the family resided on the Mt. Springs premises, this borough, when Mr. Flory, suffering from a slight mental derangement, went to the county home. He was at one time employed as driver of the flour and feed delivery team of John R. Royer, and was known as a faithful and trustworthy employee. The body was interred in the Lancaster cemetery on Wednesday afternoon, having been claimed by the family just in time to prevent its burial in Potter's Field.
