Frailey, the Well-Known Insurance Agent and Odd Fellow We are called upon to record the death of another of Lancaster's well-known citizens, Mr. H. L. Frailey having died this morning at his residence, No. 120 South Queen street, after an illness of about five weeks from inflammation of the kidneys and a complication of diseases. The death will prove quite a shock to his many friends, for it is not long since has been seen on the streets. Mr. Frailey was born in Lancaster in 1826 and was consequently in his 64th years at the time of his death. He has lived here all his life-time, having taught school for two terms at Washington borough. He learned the trade of tailor with the late Jacob Westhaeffer. He worked at his trade for about eight years, and then associated himself with Mr. Adam Barr in the agricultural implement business. He as janitor of Odd Fellows Hall for a period of nineteen years, and was very prominent in lodge circles. He was also assessor of the Third ward for many years, and has been secretary of the Southern Market Company since the organization. When the late Christian H. Lefevre died Mr. Frailey was elected to fill the vacancy in the secretaryship of the Home Mutual Fire Insurance Company, which held at the time of his demise. He had been solicitor for the same company for twenty years. The deceased was strong in his religious convictions and was a devout, earnest church worker, having been an elder of the Church of God when he died. He was a member of the United Brethren church for years and always took an active interest in the affairs of his church. The subject of this notice was a member of Lancaster Lodge, No. 67, I. O. O. F., Washington Encampment, and of Inland City Lodge, Knights of Pythias. A widow and four children survive, the children being: William O. Frailey, the well-known druggist; Henry L. Frailey, Jr., painter, residing at Chester, Delaware county; Mary, the wife of Frank. B. Diffenbaugh, of this city, and Miss Annie Frailey, living at home. Mr. Charles R. Frailey, with Bausman & Burns, is a brother of deceased. The funeral will held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the house and at 2:30 at the Church of God, with interment at Lancaster Cemetery.
