Frailey, Retired City Druggist, Dies William O. Frailey, Jr., seventy-four, 1608 Lititz Pike, retired city druggist, died at 10:40 p.m. Thursday at the General Hospital where he was admitted on Feb. 17. Frailey, one of the few surviving veteran druggists in Lancaster city, retired about 1958 after 50 years in the business. He was a member of the firm of William O. Frailey & Sons Pharmacy, and the Frailey Orthopedic Appliances. The firm is the oldest operating pharmacy in an inland city. He began working with his father when he was ten years old. Later, after two years at Franklin and Marshall College, he graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, received his degree as Doctor of Pharmacy in June, 1908. In 1955 he received a life membership in the Lancaster County Pharmaceutical Assn., of which he was a member for 40 years; and two years later was cited by the organization for his long and distinguished service to the community. He was one of the first presidents of the county organization. Fifty years after his graduation, in 1958, Frailey and three other classmates were honored by the Alumni Assn. of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. Each received certificates of citation at that time in Philadelphia. He was a son of the late William O. and Elizabeth Stroble Frailey, and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, city, and the Holy Name Society. He was a member of Lancaster Lodge, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; was a Fourth Degree Knight in Lancaster Council, Knights of Columbus; and held membership in the Lancaster Optimist Club. Frailey, and his wife, the former Helen Edna Rooney, observed their 51st wedding anniversary last June 9. Before moving to the Lititz Pike address, they formerly resided at 113 S. Marshall St. In addition to his wife, surviving are seven children: William O. Frailey III, Lancaster; C. Milton Frailey, Lititz RD; Gerard E. Frailey, East Petersburg; Bette Ann, wife of Ronald Wilson, Downey, Calif.; Richard R. Frailey, Tucson, Ariz.; Henry F. Frailey, Elmira, N.Y.; and John F. Frailey, Pleasant Ridge, Mich.
