He was nearly ninety years old and was born in Germany. He came to this country as a young man and engaged in farming in the lower end at which he was quite successful. He retired a few years ago. At the age of eighty-four years he made a trip to the Fatherland. He is survived by three sons Jacob, of Lancaster; Martin, of Providence, and John, of Pittsburgh, and two daughters, Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Pickle, both of Providence. The funeral will take place on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the New Providence Mennonite church. Lancaster Daily Intelligencer, February 16, 1917
