Death was due to infirmities incidental to old age. He was 91 years, 8 months and 17 days old. Mr. Garber was born in Lancaster county. Early in life he became interested in horses and was engaged as a horse dealer for a period of 60 years previous to his retirement. Up until the time of taking to his bed Mr. Garber retained a live interest of horses. He also operated stage routes between Hanover and Gettysburg and Carlisle for many years. He was married to Miss Anna E. Bair, daughter of the late John Bair, of Hanover, in 1856. She died in 1903. There were two children, Mrs. Walter Davis, with whom he resided, and Mrs. Edwin G. Eckert, deceased. New Oxford Item, August 8, 1918
