(Lancaster, Pa.) 1864-1928: June 29, 1880 Mrs. Sarah Rebecca Holbrook, relict of the late Marcus D. Holbrook, a former editor of the Lancaster Intelligencer, died at her residence, No. 419 East King street, of heart disease, with which she had suffered severely for about eleven weeks. Mrs. Holbrook was a daughter of George Adams, whose wife was a sister of Samuel Schoch, the present cashier of the Columbia bank. She was born and educated in Harrisburg, where she married M. D. Holbrook. About 1844 Mr. Holbrook removed his family from Harrisburg to Lancaster, and they have resided here ever since...At the time of her death Mrs. Holbrook was about 66 years old. She was the mother of a large family of children, of whom four daughters and two sons survive her. Her funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon, at 4 o'clock. Interment at Lancaster cemetery.
