William Hughes Dies in Hospital William R. Hughes Sr., 70, 609 E. Madison St.,
died yesterday at St. Joseph's Hospital at 2 p. m., following a short illness.
He was born in Lancaster the son of the late Isaac and Mary Ann Rohm Hughes and
was the husband of the late Rosa M. Kemmler Hughes. He was an Armstrong Cork
Company employee until his retirement in 1950. He was a member of Maccabees
Lodge, Lancaster Tent No. 508A. He is survived by the following children: Mary,
wife of Leroy Newport; Catherine, wife of Lloyd Little; William H. Jr., Anna,
wife of Walter Burkhart, and Rosie, all of Lancaster: Raymond, at home: Carroll,
Lancaster: and Margaret, at home. He is also survived by a brother, J. Cyrus
Hughes, Lancaster, and a sister, Ada, wife of Harry Millet, Reading. There are
26 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren surviving.
