Michael Helfrich Dead.

Michael Helfrich, a well known resident of West Hempfield township, died on 
Sunday at the residence of his son, Mathias Helfrich, near Ironville.  He was in 
ill health for the past three years.  Death resulted from the infirmities of old 
age, he being about seventy-five years old.  Mr. Helfrich kept hotel for many 
years and retired about ten years ago, when he was succeeded by his son, 
Mathias.  His wife died ten years ago.  His surviving children are:  Mathias, 
with whom he lived; Peter, of Baltimore; George, Tacoma, Washington; Frederick, 
of Ironville; John, of Columbia, and Mrs. Elizabeth Bard, wife of Frederick 
Bard, of West Hempfield township.  He was a member of the Lutheran church near 
Ironville.
