RUTH IRENE HOFFMAN

Formerly of 218 E. 3rd Ave., died at 6:15 p. m. yesterday, Dec. 23, 1976, 
at the Valley View Home following an extended illness.  She was born June 
19, 1887, in Altoona, a daughter of Martin L. and Ida Mae (Stern) Henry, 
and Aug. 26, 1915, in Altoona, was married to Lloyd C. Hoffman.  Surviving 
are her husband, three children, Mrs. Miriam Kempf and Charles H. of 
Altoona and Robert L. of Dresden, N. Y.; seven grandchildren, nine 
great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Jess Gearhart of Huntingdon.  Mrs. 
Hoffman was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and Branches of the Vine 
Sunday School Class and Lutheran Church Women.  She was also a member of 
Chapter 290, Order of the Eastern Star, and Jobel Court.  Friends will be 
received in the Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Juniata, from noon to 4 p. m. 
and 7 to 9 p. m. Sunday and 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. Monday.
