John K. Kring died from dropsy and complications at the home of his son-in- law, William B. Witwer, near Center church, Lancaster county, aged 81 years and 3 months. His wife, Kate (Westley) Kring died in 1923. He was a son of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Kessler) Kring. Deceased was a retired farmer and for many years attended the Reading markets. He was a member of the Allegheny Lutheran church and held various offices in the church council up to his death. There survive these children: John W., Bowmansville; Samuel, near Adamstown; Charles, Reading; Henry, Mohnton, R.F.D., Mrs. Harry Trostle, Bowmansville; Mrs. William B Witwer, with whom he resided. Funeral, Monday, Aug 17, at 9:30 a.m. from the home of his son-in-law. Further services at Allegheny church, Rev. C.G. Heffner, of this borough, officiating. Allegheny cemetery stone: John K KRING died 8/12/1925. His wife was Catharine Ann (Kate) Westley, daughter of Johannes Westley and Maria Fries/Frees of Cumru, Berks Co; born abt 5/22/1841-2/4/1923, also buried at Allegheny cemetery.
