Saturday at his home in the Theater Apartments, E. Main St., Mount Joy, after an illness of four weeks. Death was caused by a heart ailment. He was a son of Mrs. Sadie Mateer and the late Oliver Mateer and was an employee of the Mount Joy Shoe Factory. He was a member of the Friendship Fire Company, Mount Joy, and of the LOOM, Lancaster. Besides his mother and his wife, Mrs. Florence M. Rutherford Mateer, he is survived by two step-daughters: Dolores J. and Charlotte L. Feiser, at home; these brothers and sisters: Mildred, wife of Peter Zerphy, Mount Joy; William, Florin; Norman, USNR; Emerson, Manheim; LeRoy, United States Army; Margaret Mateer, Mount Joy; Oliver, U. S. Army; and Fannie, wife of Charles Estell, Mount Joy.
