Lancaster daily intelligencer. (Lancaster, Pa.) 1864-1928: October 14, 1880
Daniel K. Miesse, aged 73 years, and residing at 314 South Prince street, died very
suddenly at his residence last evening. Mr. Miesse had not been well for some time
past, but yesterday he seemed to be a great deal better. During the day he took a
ride, and after returning home he started out for a short walk. He again returned to
the house, and while in the dining room he was taken with pains, and, dropping over,
he expired in a short time. It is supposed that the immediate cause of his death was
heart disease. Mr. Miesse was born in Berks county and afterword removed to
Schaefferstown, Lebanon county, where he resided for years. He moved to this city
some years ago, but soon went West. Returning, he again settled here and has been
here for seven years. He leaves a wife, one son and two daughters. His son is D. W.
Miesse, the confectioner.
The coroner impaneled a jury consisting of Abraham Sawyer, S. G. Urban, H. Ehrisman,
John A. Sehuh and Jacob Frankford, and held an inquest on the body. They rendered a
verdict of death from heart disease. 
In this city, on the 13th of October, 1880, Daniel K. Miesse, in the 73d year of his
age. The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the
funeral, from his late residence, No. 314 South Prince street, on Saturday
afternoon, at 2 o'clock. Interment at Woodward Hill cemetery.
