All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/lancaster/ _______________________________________________ DAVID MILLER Mr. David Miller, the oldest resident of this borough, died on Tuesday morning at 2:45 o'clock of infirmities due to old age, after being ill for about five months. Aged 92 years, 10 months and 5 days. Mr. Miller was a son of the late Daniel and Rebecca Miller, and was born at Mill Creek, south of New Holland, on November 22nd, 1817. He was a carpenter and farmer by occupation. About twenty-five years ago he discontinued farming and moved to this borough where he resided up to the time of his death. Deceased is one of the pioneer members of the Evangelical Church of this boro and was a devout Christian, and his life was an example for many to follow. He was one of the first superintendents of the Sunday School connected with the church. He filled the offices of class leader and trustee for a number of years. He is survived by his wife, who was Eliza Pleam, before marriage, and who is now eighty five years of age, and the following children: Mrs. Samuel L. Landes of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Anna M. Cake and Mrs. Sue P. Reitz of this borough and Wm. R. Miller of Hamburg, Berks Co. A son Martin P. Miller of Russell, Kansas, died four months ago. Mr. Miller is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock A.M. at the house. Services in the Evangelical Church and interment in the Terre Hill Cemetery. Revs. J. Willet Boyer and I. E. Johnson will officiate. H. E. Reeser of this borough is the funeral director in charge.
