Sudden Death of Mrs. Susan Newcomer

While walking with her son at Lancaster Mrs. Susan Newcomer was stricken with 
apoplexy about 6 o'clock on Saturday evening and succumbed in a short time.  
Mrs. Newcomer was born at Elizabethtown and was a daughter of Elizabeth and the 
late Jacob Carper.  Until a few weeks ago she had resided at Centerville, West 
Hempfield township, for many years, where he husband, Jacob R. Newcomer, died 
about two years ago.  Three sons survive, as does the mother, Mrs. Elizabeth 
Carper, of this borough, and the following brothers and sister:  John and Haydn, 
of Lititz; Jacob, of Manheim; Milton, of Wilmington, Del., and Elizabeth, of 
Philadelphia.  The funeral was held on Wednesday with interment at Centerville.
