Veteran Teacher R.A. Pollock, 57, Dies In Phila. A veteran Martic Twp. teacher died yesterday morning in a Philadelphia hospital after an illness of a few days. Raymond A. Pollock, fifty-seven, Drumore RD, died at 3:15 a.m. yesterday in Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Philadelphia. He bacame ill on Tuesday and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, Lancaster, ans was later transferred to Philadelphia. Taught for 30 Years. He attended Millersville State Teachers College and Elizabethtown College and had taught in Martic Twp. for 30 years. Born in Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Oliver and Barbara Miller Pollock and was a member of Bethesda Methodist Church, as well as of the Official Board of the Methodist Church. He was also a member of Washington Lodge 156, Quarryville. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Kathryn Cramer Pollock; and five brothers and sisters: Robert W., Quarryville; Mrs. Edward Longer, Lancaster; Mrs. Charles Schreiber, New Providence; Mrs. B. F. Armstrong, New Providence; and Wilbur, Quarryville, R1. Tribute from the Board David M. Huber, president of the Martic Twp. Board of Education, paid tribute last night to Pollock's work in the community. He termed him a very fine teacher and said he had done outstanding work, both in the one-room schools of the area and for the past three years in the new consolidated school near Rawlinsville.
