WASHINGTON BOROUGH.
Death and Funeral of Mrs. Hulda Rice, Wife of Rev. Wm. Rice.

  The funeral of Mrs. Hulda Rice, wife of Rev. Wm. Rice, pastor of the 
Church of God, whose demise occurred on last Saturday, in her sixty-
third year, took place on Tuesday at ten o'clock A.M.  The services 
were conducted in the Church of God.  Rev. Forney, editor of the Church 
Advocate, preached a very fine and eloquent discourse to a very large 
concourse of friends and neighbors of the deceased, who had gathered to 
pay their respect and last sad rites to a very estimable lady.  She was 
a loving and kind wife, and she will be greatly missed by a bereaved 
husband.  Two daughters and one son were present at the obsequies, the 
son arriving from Michigan just a few hours previous to his mother's 
death.  The cause of death was erysipelas and typhoid fever.
