Lancaster daily intelligencer. (Lancaster, Pa.) 1864-1928: December 10, 1880
December 8, 1880, J. W. Sandoe, late editor of the Strasburg Free Press, died at his
residence in Strasburg on Wednesday of consumption. Mr. Sandoe was a practical
printer, and some years ago, in connection with George H. Hand, established the New
Holland Clarion. About three years ago he sold his interest in the Clarion and
purchased from George B. Eager the Strasburg Free Press, which he conducted until
about a month ago. He leaves a wife and several young children.
