He was born near Nottingham, Chester County and was the son of the late Harrison and Matilda Long Spence and has been a life long resident of this community and was a commission merchant for 30 years, and for over 40 years a trustee of the Pleasant Grove M.E. Church. He leaves two daughters: M. Agnes, at home, and H. Evelyn of Philadelphia. He also had two sons who lost their lives in the World War. Two brothers left are: Addison of Pleasant Grove and William of Penn Hill: also one sister Mrs Eva Hes, of Penn Hill. Funeral services will be held Thursday March 2, with private services from the late home at 1:30, with public services at the Pleasant Grove M.E. Church at 2 o'clock.
