ELIZABETHTOWN, Oct. 28. - Augustus Steiner, a retired tinsmith and an old and highly respected citizen, died on Friday morning from complication of diseases incident to old age. Mr. Steiner was born in Germany, and emigrated to this country when a lad. He has been a citizen of Elizabethtown for many years, and was engaged in the tinsmith business until several years ago, when, on account of failing health, he retired from business and his son, John H. Steiner, succeeded him. A wife and three sons, Edward, of Philadelphia; Theodore, of Sunbury; John H. Steiner, of Elizabethtown, and two daughters, Mrs. George Baker, of Manheim, and Mrs. John G. Parthemer, of Harrisburg, survive him. The funeral will be held from his late residence, at nine o'clock on Monday morning, and religious services will be conducted at the house. Interment will be made in Mt. Tunnel cemetery. The deceased was in his 77th year and a lifelong member of the German Lutheran church, and in politics he was an ardent Democrat.
