Mr. Troop was stricken on Friday afternoon, and lingered in an unconscious condition for forty-eight hours, when death ensued. He had sustained several similar attacks previously, but had recovered sufficiently to enable him to be about. His sudden demise was a shock to his large circle of friends in this neighborhood, by whom he was held in high esteem. Deceased had attained the age of 81 years, 10 months and 9 days. Mr. Troop was a wheelwright by trade, and for many years conducted the business in this borough. He was known as an expert workman, and respected by all for his honesty and fair dealing. He retired from active business pursuits a number of years ago. After the death of his wife, about two years ago, he resided at Lancaster, and on Easter, exactly one year prior to his death, he entered the Brethren's Home. The deceased was a faithful and consistent member of the Baptist Brethren church for many years. He is survived by four children, as follows: Martin, of Reading; William, of Dayton, O.; David, of Lancaster, and Mrs. George Heil, residing near Reamstown. The funeral took place from the residence of Undertaker Henry Wolf, at Lincoln, at 1 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon. Services were held in the Brethren church, this borough, Elder Israel Wenger and Rev. J. W. Schlosser officiating. Interment was made in the cemetery at Mohler's meeting house.
