CATHERINE WOODLAND, A NATIVE OF GAP, PASSES AWAY IN PHILA. Mrs. Catherine Woodland, a native of Gap, this county, who had reached the age of 101 years, died on Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. A. Pinkerton, of Philadelphia. Mrs. Woodland lived in the town of her birth for seventy-five years. Her parents came from County Derry, Ireland, and both lived until a good old age, her father dying when 95, while an aunt of the deceased died at the age of 102 years. Two daughters and one son survive, besides seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. When questioned on the anniversary of her 100th birthday as to how to live long Mrs. Woodland said that she always worked hard and perhaps that had something to do with her reaching the century mark. The funeral will take place on Tuesday from the Church of Our Lady of Consolation, Parkesburg, Chester Co. Lancaster Intelligencer, February 5, 1917
