Mr. Young, who was in his 72d year, was a leading member of the First Presbyterian church, of which he was for many years a trustee. He formerly served on the borough council and was prominently identified with the growth and development of the town. Two sons and two daughters survive him – William Wirt Young and Robert Young, jr., of Coatesville; Mrs. W. Harry Davis, of Lancaster, and Mrs. W. W. Long, of Philadelphia. Squire S. S. Young, of East Fallowfield, is a brother and there are two sisters – Mrs. Robert S. Scott and Mrs. John Speakman, of Coatesville. Lancaster Intelligencer, October 8, 1903
