Howard Lantz The wedding of Miss Elsie B. Jackson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Jackson of Gay Street, Christiana, and J. Howard Lantz, of Atglen, son of Mrs. Annie Lantz, of Slokom Avenue, Christiana, took place at 2 o'clock yesterday in the Octoraro Presbyterian church. The wedding was one of the brilliant events of the early Autumn and was marked by lovely decorations in autumn coloring, zenias marigolds, golden rod and stalks of flame-colored gladioli. The service was read by Rev. George H. Shea, pastor of the church, and music preceding and during the ceremony was furnished by Mrs. Lohman, a classmate of the bride, who played the wedding marches and also accompanied Miss Margaret Trout of Woodbine, York County, while she sang "At Dawning and "Mavis". The best man was John Herr, of Parkesburg. The ushers were Elwood Lantz, of Glen Moore, brother of the bridegroom, Robert Lantz, of Philadelphia; Earl Heidelbaugh, Quarryville; and Elwood Eavenson, Christiana. They were dressed in dark blue coats and white flannel trousers. The matron of honor was Mrs. Percy H. Bair, of West Chester and the two little flower girls, Sarah Kathryn McElwain, niece of the groom, and Mary Joyce Martin, cousin of the bride, wore Nile green. The bridesmaids were Miss Elva L. Jackson, sister of the bride and Miss Elizabeth Carter, both of Christiana, who wore dainty gowns of orchid satin and tulle, and Miss Emma B. Jackson, another sister, of the bride, and Miss Jean G. Girvin of Christiana wore mauve satin and tulle. Both matron of honor and bridesmaids wore black satin slippers and carried masses of pink roses tied with tulle the color of their gowns. The bride entered the church with her father. She wore a gown of ivory satin and tulle, with head dress of pearls and orange blossoms caught in rosettes and lace at the sides falling into a long veil. A shower of white roses and lilies of the valley formed her bouquet. Following the ceremony there was a reception held at the home of the bride. About one hundred guests were present from Christiana, Gap, Paradise, Lancaster, Millersville, Lititz, Harrisburg, Woodbine, Atglen, Cochranville, Russellville, Glen Moore, Downingtown, West Chester, Drexel Hill and Philadelphia. Mr. and Mrs. Lantz left later in the afternoon for a trip through the New England states and Canada. Mrs. Lantz chose as her traveling costume a black suit of satin and velvet with a small black satin hat. They will reside on their return in their newly erected bungalow on Harrison Avenue, Christiana. Mrs. Lentz is a graduate of the Millersville Normal school and for the past three years has taught in the Upper Darby Schools. Sunday News, Lancaster, PA, September 2, 1928
