All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/lancaster/ _______________________________________________ Source: Lancaster Co, Wills Book Y, Vol 2, Page 66 Written: May 5, 1783 Samuel Brand In the Name of God Amen I Samuel Brand of Rapho Township Lancaster County & State of Pennsylvania farmer being old and weary of Body But of Good understanding and Memory thanks be unto God therefore do this fifth day of May Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and eighty three make confess and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say It is my will and I do hereby ordain that for the first my funeral expenses & all my just debts shall be paid by my hereinafter named Executors out of my Estate Item It is my will & I give and devise to my Son Yost Brand to him his heirs & assigns forever my plantation whereon he Even now already dwelleth which contains hundred & ninety acres more or less as the Draught of the same sheweth Together with the Buildings house & Barn thereon Being Item it is my will & I give and bequeath to my Eldest son one English shilling sterling extraordinary which shall be for his full second share of all my estate Item It is my will & I give to my deceased son named Hanz Brand his widow named Maria a full childs share what is coming to one of her children out of the plantation of the said deceased which was sold by his Executors Item it is my will that all my children whom I will all here mention by name that is Michael Brand Christian Brand Yost Brand Anna Maria Brand Elizabeth Brand Elister Brand & Jacob Brand shall all have Equal shares of all my Extate Excepting what I have above given to my Eldest son extraordinary for his second share Item I constitute make & ordain my two sons viz Michael Brand & Christian Brand for my sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament and do hereby utterly disallow revoke & disannul all my former Wills & Testaments acknowledging and confessing this & no other to be my only Last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I Samuel Brand have hereunto set my hand & seal the day & year above written Signed Sealed pronounced & declared by the said Samuel Brand as his last Will & Testament In presence of us Christian Kilhoffer Elizabeth Kilhoffer Lancaster County so On the first day of June Anno Domini 1784 Before me the subscriber personally appeared Christian Kilhoffer and Eizabeth Kilhoffer the two subscribing witnesses to the above and foregoing will and on their Solemn affirmation Respectively did declare and say that they were present and saw and heard Samuel Brand the Testator therein named sign seal publish pronounce and declare this above and foregoing writing as(?) and for his last Will and Testament and that at the doing thereof he was of sound and well disposing mind memory understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and Belief James Jaulo(?)
