I Francis Diller of Brecknok Township in Lancaster County being very sick but of sound Mind and Understanding Thanks be to God therefore am resolved to make my Last Will and Testament in Manner following: First it is my Will and I do order that all of my just Debts be paid out of the whole of my Estate: Further it is my Will and I do order that my Son Abraham shall have all my Land and Plantation whereon I now live and I bequeath the same to him and his Heirs forever; which Land my Son Abraham shall have for the Sum of One thousand Pounds good and hard Money in Silver and Gold as it is now current in Pennsylania. The aforesaid Land and Plantation I give my Son Abraham at the above said Sum provided the Land remains at the Price it is at present, and if the Land should decrease in Value so that my Son Abraham shall find it too hard to take the same upon those Terms, then it shall be appraised to him by four honest disinterested Men, two of whom shall be chosen by my Son Abraham, and the other two shall be chosen by my other Children, who shall value the same to the best of their Judgment. Further it is my Will and I order that my Son Abrahsm shall pay unto my other Children in the Manner following, to wit, my Son Abraham shall be free from Payment one Year after my Decease, after which he shall pay the Sum of Twenty Pounds, and the second Year the Sum of Thirty Pounds, and yearly and every Year thereafter the Sum of Forty five Pounds untill the whole is paid. Further it is my Will and I order that my Son Abraham shall also be an Heir to the Land and Plantation. And it is further my Will and I do order that my beloved Wife Anne shall keep House with my Son Abraham as long as she pleases. And my Personal Estate shall remain together and entire during the Time my beloved Wife keeps House with my Son Abraham, and the Taxes and other Impositions shall be paid out of the whole of my Estate during that Time. And my beloved Wife Anna shall have her seat and live in my House wherein I now live if she should not chuse [choose] to keep House with my Son Abraham, an she shall have the small Cellar and as much Room in the Kitchen and the Fire Hearth as she shall have Occasion for, also the fourth Part of the Garden at her Choice. And my Son Abraham shall deliver unto my Wife yearly and every year as long as she lives or remains a Widow the Flour out of Eighteen Bushels of shell'd Speliet [spelt] and give her the [line at the fold of the original translation is broken and not legible] and Fifty Pounds of good Beef every Fall, and keep two Cows which she shall choose for her Summer and Winter as his own, and a Calf till it comes to be a Cow and also two Sheep like his own, and give her every year Fifteen Pounds of good heckled Hemp and Twenty Pounds of Hemp Two [tow] Ten Pounds of good heckled Flax and Twelve Pounds of Flax Tow and deliver as much Wood and Water to the House for my Wife as she shall use, and allow her as many apples as she shall have Occasion for and deliver her the third Part of the Eggs and as many Candles and as much Salt as she may use, and yearly Ten Gallons of Apple Whiskey and one Barrel of good Cider. Further it is my Will and I do order that my Children or Executors shall not search my Wife's two Chests as long as she shall live or remain a Widow. And further my Wife shall have the third Part of my Personal Estate and I bequeath the same to her as long as she shall live. Further it is my Will and I do order that my eldest Son Francis shall have Ten Pounds and Ten Shillings extraordinary, so that he sahll not take two Shares, which Ten Pounds I give unto him and his Heirs forever. And my Son Abraham shall have so much of my Personal Estate after my beloved Wife shall quit House keeping as each of my other Children shall have then received. And further it is my Will and I order that after the above is deducted my Children shall inherit my whole Estate one like the other that no one shall have the Advantage of the other and I bequeath the same to them and their Heirs forever. And further I ordain and appoint my Son Peter Diller Executor to execute my Last Will and Testament after my Decease. And I do hereby revoke and disannull all former Wills and Testaments, and declare this present Writing to be my Last Will and Testament, and have sealed and signed the same with my own Hand and Seal the Date above mentioned.
