All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/lancaster/ _______________________________________________ Source: Will Bk Written: October 12, 1795 John Glen Decd In the Name of God Amen I John Glen of the Twonship of Hempfield in the County of Lancaster and Province of Pennsylvania am weak in body But of sound and good understanding God be thanked and taking into consideration of the Mortality of my Body and the immortality of my Soul and knowing that it is appointedf or all once to die do make and ordain this as my Last Will and Testament in manner following First it is my Will that all my just debts shall be paid as also any Funeral Expenses out of my Estate. ITEM I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Helen all my movable Goods and Personal Property Further I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Helen the sum of fifty pounds money in gold or silver coin as it now passes in the Province of Pennsylvania forever Further it is my WIll and I give and bequeath unto my Sister's child Helen Shwartz the sum of fifty pounds money in gold or silver coin as it now passes in the Province of Pennsylvania forever. ITEM further it is my will and I give and bequeath and enter the Interest of the residue of my Estate what yet is and remains unto my belovedwife Helen untill my Child which is not yet born arrives to the age of fourteen years and then the aforesaid Interest shall fall to the Principal sum of the residue aforesaid and my said wife shall have no right or claim to the samebut it shall be placed in Interest for my said Child untill it arrives at the age of Eighteen or Twenty one years and then it shall have the same in its own possession forever. ITEM further it is my will that if my said child which is not yet Born should happen to die then shall the residue of said moneywhich I bequeathed to my Child aforesaid full into my Brothers and Sisters but my Brother William Glen shall not inherit anything thereof And lastly I ordain nominate and constitute my beloved and Just Friend Henry Landis as my Executor of this my Last Will and Testament by me heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereto set my own hand and seal the twelfth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand and seven hundred and ninety five. Signed Sealed proclaimed and declared by the above said John Glen and for his Last Will and Testamentin the prrovince of us the subscribers Benjamiin Hershey Christian Strange John Glen (seal ) Lancaster County as on the twenty fourth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand and seven hundred and ninety five Before me the subscriber personally appeared Benjamin Hershey and Christian Strange the two subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument in writing and upon their solemn affirmations according to law did severally declare and say that they were present and saw and heard John Glen the Testator therein named sign seal publish pronounced and declare the foregoing instrument in writing as and for his last will and Testament and that at the time of the doing thereof he was of sound and well disposing mind memory and understanding according to the best of their knowledge observation and belief.
