When will was written he lived in Lanc. Co. but apparently later moved. He is listed in 1880 Federal Census for Lawrence Co., PA in the New Castle 3rd Ward. Following is a true copy of document now in the possession of Frank R. Haus (Jr.), great, great grandson of the executor named in this will, Benjamin Franklin Haus JAMES A. HAUS WILL AND TESTAMENT I, James A. Haus, of Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania being of sound mind memory and understanding, declare the following to be my last will and testament and desire the same to be executed as such. Viz., to my beloved parents (to be divided equally between them) I give and bequeath all my property real and personal, also all money or moneys due me for my services as a soldier in the Army of the United States, during the war for which I am now enrolled, also all land or lands to which I may be entitled for said services. I hereby constitute my brother, Benj. F. Haus of Reading Berks Co. Pennsylvania executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this thirtieth day of April AD eighteen hundred and sixty one at Camp Scott, York, York County, Pennsylvania.
