Will Book C., Vol.1, Page 352-3 Written: December 31, 1775 Recorded: January 2, 1776 (Indexed under Ephraim Lytle) In the Name of God,Amen I Ephraim Litle of Mountjoy in the County of Lancaster and Province of Pennsylvania being sick and low in Body but of perfect mind and memory praise be to God first of all I commit my soul into the hands of the Almighty God my Maker and my body to be buried in the Earth in a Christian and decent manner at the discretion of my Executors I also appoint and Constitute my loving wife Jennet Litle and my son Joseph Litle to be my Exrsto this my Last Will and Testament revoking all others as for what wordly substance God has blessed me with I dispose and bequeath in manner following viz. first I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife the one third of my personal estate and my dwelling house, together with her maintenance on the place during her life; next I givend bequeath unto my son Joseph Litle the Plantation he now lives on Next I give and bequeath to my son Nathaniel Litle the Plantation he now lives on Next I give and bequeath to my youngest son Ephraim Litle his heirs and assigns for ever the Plantation I now live on allowing him two hundred acres next to Samuel Scot's place. the remainder to be equally divided between my sons Joseph and Nathaniel and their heirs and assigns forever Next I give and bequeath to my daughter Martha the sum of twenty pounds next I give and bequeath to my daughter Ruth the sum of forty pounds next I give and bequeath to my daughter Jean the sum of ten pounds next I give and bequeath to my daughter Rebecca the sum of ten pounds together with the sorrel two year old colt Likewise three years maintenance on my Plantation. Next I give and bequeath to my daughter Priscilla the sum of forty pounds;next I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth the sum of thirty pounds together with her maintenance and clothing till married the cash so left to said daughters is to be paid by my sons Joseph and Nathaniel Joseph paying one hundred pounds allowing Joseph what he has paid already to be deducted out of the said hundred pounds and Nathaniel paying fifty pounds and Joseph Litle is to pay said hundred pounds by gales of twenty pounds a year and Nathaniel is to pay fifty pounds by gales of ten pounds per year each paying said gales till the legatees are paid. Lastly after my beloved wife received her one third before mentioned, I appoint all my lawful debts to be paid out of the other two thirds and the remainder of the said two thirds to be equally divided beetween my two youngest Children namely Ephraim and Elizabeth In Witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this thirty- first day of December one thousand seven hundred and seventy five. Cone, Joseph Templeton, Andrew Gambel, Thomas Wiley his Ephraim X Litle (seal) mark Probated 2 Jan 1776 Lancaster County On the twenty second day of January Anno Domini 1776 Before me the subscriber personally appeared Thomas Crone and Andrew Gambel two of the subscribing witnesses to the above and within will and on their corporal oaths did depose and say that they were present and saw and heard Ephraim Litle the Testator within named sign seal publish pronounce and declare the within and above writing-----------for his last will and testament and that at the doing thereof he was of sound and well disposing mind memory and understanding To the Best of their knowledge observation and belief. Register Be it remembered that on the twenty second day of January Anno Domini 1776 The Last Will and Testament of Ephraim Litle late of the county of Lancaster, deceased was proved in due form of Law and Letters testamentary thereof were granted to Jannet Litle, Joseph Litle, the Executers therein named they being first duly qualified well and truly to administer the Estatet of the deceased and to on or before the twenty second day of February next and to render a true and just Administration on the said Estate when thereto lawfully required Given under the seal of the said office of me (signed) Edwd.
