Recorded: August 7, 1806 George Mentzer deceased In the name of God, amen! I George Mentzer, of Warwick township, Lancaster County, and state of Pennsylvania, yeoman, being weak of body, but of a sound & perfect mind and memory, God be thanket therefore. I do make and order, this and no other, to be my last will and testament, in manner as following. I ordain my soul to the Almity God, who gave it, & my body to be buried in a Christian like manner. Further, It is my will, that my beloved wife Elizabeth Mentzer, is to have or to take after my decease out of what moveables, as cattles and good whatsomever as much as she chuses or sees cause therefore out of the appraisement as it will be made to hir own use and benefit, during hir natural life. Further it is my will, that my daughter Susanna is to have first & formest of all to sefe, one bed with bedsteads. And the remainder of what will be left to be sold at publick vandue, & funarel expenses & other charges to be paid thereout. Further, it is my will, that my beloved wife Elizabeth is to have full possession of my house & land to hir own use as long as she remains my widow. Further, It is my will, that Elizabeth my wife is to have the interest of the one third part of the money of what remains yearly, & every year after my decease. Further, It is my will, that after hir decease, all which shall remain, then it is to be devidet among my children in equal shares, share & share alike named here John Peter Molly Samuel Elizabeth Daniel Susanna Juliana Esther Jacob Eave. Further, I appoint my wife Elizabeth & my trusty friend Christian Baker, of the county & state aforesaid to be my executors. My hand & seal George Mentzer {Seal} Signed in the presence of Enterlining don before sealing David Hackman, Christian Rieser. Lancaster County, On the 7th day of August, anno domini, 1806. Before me the Subscriber, personally appeared David Hackman, one of the subscribing witnesses to the within will, who upon his solemn affirmation, according to law, did declare and say that he was present and saw and heard George Mentzer, the testator therein named, sign, seal, publish, pronounce, and declare the within instrument in writing, as & for his last will & testament, and that at the doing thereof, he was of sound and well disposing mind, memory & understanding, according to the best of his knowledge observation and belief. Be it remembered, That on the 7th day of August, anno domini, 1806. The last will and testament of George Mentzer, late of Warwick township, in the county of Lancaster, deceased, was proved in due form of law & letters testamentary thereon were granted to Elizabeth Mentzer & Christian Baker, the executors therein named, they having first been duly qualified, well & truly to administer the estate of the said deceased, especially to exhibit a true and perfect inventory thereof, onto the Registers Office, within one month, and to render a true & just account of their executorship on said estate, in one year from this date, or when thereto lawfully required.
