The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ____________________________________________________ Deed, Matthew Elder to James Hambleton, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, deed book No. 1, p. 162, film No. 1533769 This indenture made and entered into on the third day of November in the year of our Lord 1838 by and between Matthew Elder of little Beaver Township, Beaver County, stated Pennsylvania and Mary his wife and bulk of one part and James Hamilton of the County of Washington and stayed aforesaid of the other part wherefore that the said Matthew Elder before and in consideration of the sum of $1950 lawful money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said James Hamilton act and _ the ceiling and delivery here of the receipt whereof he got hereby acknowledge and their all of equal and forever discharge the said James Hamilton his heirs and assigns by the use present have granted bargained, sold ??? released and confirmed them by these presents to grant bargain sell a lien in fee often released confirmed onto the said James Hamilton into his heirs and assigns a certain tract of land situated in North Beaver Township, Beaver County containing 100 acres B.C. team up? More or less bounded by land of Robert Brewster on the North John Hopper on the East Alan Nesbitt on the South and John Nesbitt on the last together with all singular other the housing, out houses, buildings, barns, stables, ways, woods, waters, water courses, rights, liberties, privileges, hereditment and appurtenanceswhatsoever thereunto belonging and in anywise appertaining and the ? Remainder, rent ? and profits thereof and also all of the estate, right, title, interest, property, claim and demand whatsoever that of him. The said Matthew Elder and Mary his wife in law or equity in or otherwise however begin or out all of the ?? The above-mentioned tract of land was sold by the High Sheriff of Beaver County as the property of Alexander Alcorn by virtue of a writ ?? The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania issued out of the court all of Common Pleas of the County of Beaver ?? On 28 of July in the year of our Lord 1837 and whereas the said sheriff having given ?? and public notice of the time and place of sale did on the 26th day of August in the year of our Lord 1837 expose the said testament and premises to sale by public ?? On outcry and sold the same to Matthew Elder and afterwards to wit on the seventh day of March in the year of our Lord 1838 the deed was made by the said Matthew T. Kennedy sheriff of Beaver County to the said Matthew Elder and acknowledged at the court of Common Pleas for the County of Beaver before the judges of said court by the said Matthew T. Kennedy sheriff of said County on the seventh day of March in the year of our Lord 1838 which deed is recorded in book No. 10 p. 829 and now by these present can made by the said Matthew Elder and Mary his life to the said James Hamilton to have and to hold the said measurage as testament ?? tract ?? of 100 acres of land hereditments and premises hereby granted ?? Or intended to be with the appurtenances unto the same James Hamilton his heirs and assigns to and for the only ? Is based bar and?
