Potter, Alderman of Lawrence County, by Felice Cardillo of Mahoning Twp., the father of Jose Cardillo, born May 12, 1882. Since he was eight or nine years of age, he would leave home and be gone for two or three months at a time. He refuses to work and will not go to any school. James Cardillo of Mahoning Twp.. aged 22, brother of the defendant. Uncontrollable and incorrigible. Gerardo Scavone of New Castle deposes that he has known the dfendant and his parents for about three years, I consider the defendant one of the wrost boys I ever knew. Uncontrollable and incorrigible. Additional Comments: Notes made at Pennsylvania Reform School at Morganza, Pa. upon the boy's arrival: Jose Cardillo. Parents living at Mahoning Township, Mahoning P.O., Lawrence Co., Pa. Father Felice Cardillo a farmer. Sent here for running away from home, etc. Description: Height 5' 1/2"; weight 111 pounds. Black hair, dark eyes, dark complexion, small scar on right side from burn, small scar above outer corner of right eye. Age: 15 on May 12, 1897; received Aug. 3, 1899. Born in Italy of Italian parentge. Catholic. Father intemperate, mother not intemperate. Parents own property. 1 older brother, 1 younger brother; 1 older sister, 3 younger sisters. Illiterate.
