Complaint made before John R. Potter, Alderman of Lawrence County, by W.B. 
Ritchie, father of Annie Ritchie, born July 4, 1884.  She frequently absents 
herself from home for days at a time and associates with people of questionable 
character.  She is incorrigible and entirely beyond my control. 
     F.H. Van Brocklin, Police Officer, New Castle, Pa., deposes that he has 
known Annie Ritchie for about two years.  On the night of the 12th instant, I 
arrested her for street walking and about one year ago took her from a house of 
prostitution.
     J.L. McFate, Chief of Police, New Castle, Pa., deposes that he has known 
Annie Ritchie for about six months.  Knew her to be a common street walker.  
She has been placed under arrest twice during the past three months.

Notes made at Pennsylvania Reform School at Morganza, Pa. upon the girl's 
arrival:
     Annie Ritchie.  Father W.B. Ritchie is a laborer in a sand bank and lives 
on Lafayette Street, New Castle.  Sent here for street walking.  Has been 
living an improper life for eight or nine months.  Was well treated at home.
     Height 5'1", weight 110 pounds.  Dark brown hair, blue eyes, full face, 
freckled.  Slight scar center of forehead at edge of hair.
     Age: 15 on May 4, 1899.  Received Mar. 15, 1900.  Born Penna., Irish 
parentage.  Attends what church: Disciples.  Father intemperate, mother not 
intemperate.  Parents own no property.  1 older brother, 1 younger brother, 3 
older sisters.  Can read and write.  Swears.  Does not lie or steal or use 
tobacco.  Is intemperate and has been arrested before..
