We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ____________________________________________________ OBITUARY: ["New Castle News", January 5, 1909] Mrs. Mary JACKSON A resident of this city for a number of years past, and previous to that, of Moravia for many years, Mrs. Mary Jackson, widow of David Jackson, died early Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nettie REED, in McDonald, Pa., near Pittsburg. For some years, Mrs. Jackson had resided in this city with her daughter, Mrs. Archie MORNES, of West Clayton Street. About the week before Christmas she went to McDonald on a visit to Mrs. Reed. Shortly afterward, she was stricken with paralysis, and death came at 2 o'clock this morning. Mrs. Jackson was 76 years of age, and was widely and favorably know in the vicinity of Moravia, where she had lived for a long time. Since the death of her husband, she had resided with her daughter in this city. She was formerly a member of the Moravia Presbyterian church, but at the time of her death, was identified with the Mahoningtown church of that denomination. She leaves to mourn her loss, five children, who are Dr. E. D. JACKSON of Mahoningtown, Mrs. Archie MORNES of this city, Mrs. Bessie BANNON of West Pittsburg, Mont and Robert JACKSON, both of Moravia. The remains will be brought to this city some time Wednesday, and will be taken to the Mornes residence on West Clayton street. Mrs. Mornes, who had been in McDonald since the beginning of her mother's illness, had returned to this city Saturday night. She left Tuesday morning for McDonald, and will return Wednesday. The hour of the funeral services will be announced." OBITUARY: ["New Castle News", February 6, 1933] J. C. F. JACKSON, aged 70, a prominent farmer of Big Beaver township passed away at the Jameson Memorial hospital, Sunday evening at 6:15, of acute Bright's disease. He was born May 9th, 1862 in Wayne township and spent his entire life in Lawrence county. He was an elder in the Wampum Presbyterian church, president of the New Castle Milling Company and of the Mount Jackson Mutual Fire Insurance Company and assessor of Big Beaver Township. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Jackson, and the following children: Mrs. Norman Duff of North Beaver township, Mrs. Harold Harshall and Oscar L. of Wampum, Orlo C. of New Castle, John D. of Beaver Falls, George H. and Robert B. at home; one brother, Dr. E. D. Jackson of Enon Valley and two sisters, Mrs. R. C. Reed of Carnegie and Mrs. C. H. Bannon of Mahoningtown, R. F. D. 8. Funeral services will be held from the Wampum Presbyterian church, Wednesday at 2:30. Interment at Valley View cemetery. Please omit flowers." OBITUARY: ["New Castle News", February 20, 1946] Mrs. Mary Jane JACKSON, aged 77 years, died Tuesday night at 9:30 o'clock after a lingering illness at her home in Wampum. She was the widow of J. C. F. Jackson who preceded her in death February 5, 1933. Mrs. Jackson was born April 7, 1868, in Wayne township, and had lived most of her life in the vicinity of Wampum. She belonged to the Wampum Presbyterian church and the Wampum W.C.T.U. Survivors include five children, Mrs. Christina MARSHALL, Wampum; Orlo Jackson, McKeesport; John Jackson, Beaver Falls; George and Robert Jackson, both of big Beaver township. She also leaves two brothers, W. H. STEFFLER, Wurtemburg, and C. A. STEFFLER, Vanport; 17 granchildren and six great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Mary DUFF, and a son, Oscar L. Jackson, preceded her in death. The body has been removed to the Marshall funeral home, Wampum, where funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. H. E. Woods of Transfer officiating. Interment will take place in Valley View cemetery, Mahoningtown. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time."
