BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That William Boal and Robert Geddis, executors of the last will and testament of Thomas MıAllen, who died in the year one thousand eight hundred and six, and also of the last will and testament of Mary MıAllen, his wife, who died in the year one hundred eight thousand and twenty-one, or the survivor of them, be authorised to sell a certain tract of land, and the improvements thereon; situate in the township of Londonderry, Dauphin and Lebanon counties, adjoining lands of Jacob Early, Robert Geddis and others, and convey the same by deed, in fee simple, to the purchaser or purchasers thereof, as fully and effectually, as the said testator and testatrix could have done in their lifetimes. And the proceeds arising from said sale, shall be applied by the said executors, in the manner directed by the last wills and testaments of said Thomas and Mary MıAllen: Provided, William Boal and Robert Geddis shall first enter into a recognizance in the orphanıs courts, of the counties of Dauphin and Lebanon, with sufficient sureties, to the satisfaction of the said courts, conditioned for the faithful exercise of this power; and that the proceeds of the sale hereby authorised, shall be applied and disposed of, according to the last wills and testaments of the said Thomas and Mary MıAllen: And provided also, That nothing herein contained, shall be so construed as to affect the rights of any other individual or individuals. AN ACT to authorise John Harrison and George Seltzer, to sell and convey certain real estate therein mentioned. SECT. 1. BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That John Harrison and George Seltzer, guardians of Eliza Seltzer, Sabina Seltzer, Amos Seltzer, Elijah Seltzer, Levi Seltzer and Joseph Seltzer, minor children of Christian Seltzer, late of Bethel township, in the county of Lebanon, deceased, are hereby authorised and empowered to sell, at public vendue, at such time and on such terms as shall appear to them most likely to subserve the interest of the said minors, all the right, title and interest, of, in and to a certain house and lot of ground, situate in Jonestown, in the county of Lebanon, adjoining a lot of Samuel Sugar, and to make and execute a sufficient deed, or deeds, to the purchaser or purchasers of the same, which shall convey the like interest and have the same force and effect, as though the same had been made and executed by the said minors, at full age: Provided. That the said John Harrison and George Seltzer, previous to making the sale, in pursuance of this act, shall enter into a bond, with sufficient security, to be approved of by the orphanıs court, in the county of Lebanon, for the proper application and investment of the monies arising from the said sale, under the direction of the orphanıs court aforesaid. BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay Ann Maria Hubley, of the county of Dauphin, or order, immediately after the passing of this act, sixty dollars, and an annuity of sixty dollars, payable half yearly during life, to commence on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three. SECT 2. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay Rebecca Bower, or order, of Lebanon county, widow of Jacob Bower, a revolutionary officer, sixty dollars immediately, and an annuity of sixty dollars, payable half yearly during life, to commence on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three. BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay unto Joseph Barnett, of the county of Lebanon, a contractor on the Berks and Dauphin turnpike road company, the sum of one thousand five hundred dollars, to be paid out of the appropriation made to the said company, by the fifth section of the act entitled "An act making appropriations for certain internal improvements," passed the twenty-fourth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventeen. SECT 2. And be it further enacted by the authority of the aforesaid, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay to Thomas Fullerton, of Crawford county, forty dollars immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars, payable on this order, half yearly, to commence on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three. SECT 3. And be it further enacted by the authority of the aforesaid, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay to Joel Bailey, the remaining arrears of the pension of Francis Stackhouse, deceased, and that the said Joel Bailey be and he is hereby authorised and required to divide the same amongst the persons who furnished necessaries for the funeral and burial of the said Francis Stackhouse, in proportion in the amount of their respective claims. BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay to George Hiller, on order, of Lebanon county, a revolutionary war soldier, forty dollars immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars, payable half yearly during life, to commence on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three. SECT 2. And be it further enacted by the authority of the aforesaid, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay to Adam Rahn, on order, for the use of Philip Reiser, of Berks county, a revolutionary soldier, forty dollars immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars, payable half yearly during life, to commence on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three. SECT 3. And be it further enacted by the authority of the aforesaid, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay to Mary Young, of Lebanon county, or order (widow of Christian Young, a revolutionary soldier,) forty dollars immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars, payable half yearly during life, to commence on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three. SECT 4. And be it further enacted by the authority of the aforesaid, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay to Samuel MıClelland, or order, of Lancaster county, a lieutenant in the revolutionary war, forty dollars immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars, payable half yearly during life, to commence on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three. SECT 5. And be it further enacted by the authority of the aforesaid, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay to John MıCammon, of Middletown, Dauphin county, or order, in trust and to be applied to the use and benefit of John Bell, of said county, a revolutionary war soldier, forty dollars immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars, payable half yearly during life, to commence on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three. SECT 6. And be it further enacted by the authority of the aforesaid, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay to Micajah Posey, or order, of Chester county, a revolutionary war soldier, forty dollars immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars, payable half yearly during life, to commence on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three. SECT 7. And be it further enacted by the authority of the aforesaid, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay to Peter Holstein, or order, of Philadelphia county, a revolutionary war soldier, forty dollars immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars, payable half yearly during life, to commence on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three. SECT 8. And be it further enacted by the authority of the aforesaid, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay to Dorcas Holliday, or order, of Huntingdon county, widow of John Holliday, a captain in the revolutionary war, sixty dollars immediately, and an annuity of sixty dollars, payable half yearly during life, to commence on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three. SECT 9. And be it further enacted by the authority of the aforesaid, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorised and required to pay William Holgate, or order, of Montgomery county, forty dollars immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars during life, to commence on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-three, payable half yearly. An Act to establish a bank in the county of Lebanon, and for other purposes. SECT 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in general assembly met, and is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Peter Linaweaver, Anthony Shorb, John Harrison, Jacob B. Weidman, Peter Shulze, George W. Kline, Jacob Swar, Michael Seltzer, John Bickel, William Coleman, Peter Hirst, John W. Gloninger, John Killinger, Samuel Rex and Daniel Keller, be and are thereby appointed commissioners to carry into effect, from and after the sixteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven, the establishment of a bank, in the county of Lebanon, to be known by the name of the "Lebanon Bank," agreeably to an act passed the twenty-first of March, one thousand eight hundred and fourteen, entitled "An act regulating banks," and an act passed the twenty-fifth of March, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-four, entitled "An act to re-charter certain banks," with all and singular the rights and privileges, and subject to all the like regulations, restrictions, penalties and taxes imposed upon the said banks by the acts referred to; the bank to be located in the borough of Lebanon, in the county of Lebanon, with a capital stock not exceeding two hundred thousand dollars, to be divided into shares of fifty dollars each, to be managed and directed by thirteen directors. SECT. 2 And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That it may be lawful for the stockholders to meet at any time previous to the third Monday in November, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven, and choose by ballot, thirteen directors to serve to that time or until others are elected, notice of the elections having been given by the commissioners, at least ten days previous thereto, in one paper published in Lebanon county, and one of the daily papers printed in the city of Philadelphia; and that this charter shall continue in full force and effect until the first day of November, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-seven, and no longer. SECT. 3 And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth sections of the act entitled "An act to re-charter certain banks, passed the twenty-first of March, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-four," be and the same are hereby extended to the bank chartered y this act. SEC. 4. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That so much of the second article of the third section of the act, entitled "An act to re-charter certain banks," passed on the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-four, as provides that no person shall be eligible as a director for more than three years out of four, and not more than three-fourths of the directors shall be eligible to be re-elected for the succeeding year, be and the same is hereby repealed, as far as it regards to this act. SEC. 5. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That no bank incorporated by this commonwealth, shall issue or re-issue any note of a lower denomination than five dollars, in virtue of any construction that may be given to any act extending the charter of such bank, nor shall any bank from and after the first Monday of September next, receive any notes of banks, not authorised by the laws of this state, of a lower denomination than five dollars; and it shall be the duty of the secretary of the commonwealth, immediately after the passage of this act, to cause this section to be published in at least five newspapers in this commonwealth. An Act to enable Abraham Sebolt, surviving trustee, to sell a certain Methodist meeting house, in Jonestown, Lebanon county. SEC. 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in general assembly met, and is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Abraham Sebolt, the surviving trustee of the Methodist meeting house in Jonestown, in Lebanon county, is hereby authorised to make sale of the said meeting house, at a public or private sale, after notice given for three weeks, by advertisement in one newspaper printed in the said county, and by three written notices of the time and place of sale, placed for the same time in the most public situations, and apply the proceeds to the payment of the debts which may have been incurred in the building and finishing the said meeting house, any surplus which may remain, into the funds of the Philadelphia conference of the Methodist Episcopal church: Provided That the said Abraham Sebolt shall enter into recognizance, in the court of common pleas of Lebanon county, with surety (to the commonwealth to be suable for the use of the persons interested as sheriffsı recognizances) to be approved by the court of common pleas of the said county, to appropriate the proceeds of said sale according to the provisions of this act, after deducting such allowance for his trouble and expenses as the said court shall decree to be reasonable, reserving that part of the lot occupied as a burying ground. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the State Treasurer be and is hereby authorised and required to pay to John McCreary, of Baltimore county, the state of Maryland, a soldier of the revolutionary war, or to his order, forty dollars, immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars, payable half yearly, during life, to commence on the first day of January, eighteen hundred and twenty-nine. SEC. 3. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the State Treasurer be and is hereby authorised and required to pay to Elizabeth Bough, of the city of Lancaster, widow of John Bough, a soldier of the revolutionary war, or to her order, forty dollars, as compensation for the revolutionary services of her said husband, and as a gratuity. SEC. 4. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the State Treasurer be and is hereby authorised and required to pay to Elizabeth Woodruff, of Northumberland county, widow of Isaac Woodruff, a soldier of the revolutionary war, or to her order, forty dollars immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars, payable half yearly, during life, to commence on the first day of January, eighteen hundred and twenty-nine. Whereas, by an act of the general assembly of this commonwealth, passed the twenty-ninth day of March eighteen hundred and twenty one, annexing to Lebanon county those parts of East Hanover and Bethel townships, in the county of Dauphin, as are situated north of the Blue or Kittatinny mountain, no provision was made for the running and marking the lines thereby established, between the said counties, and as it is right that it should be done, Therefore, SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in general assembly met, and is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That John Weidman, Esq. of the county of Lebanon, and William Cochran and Martin Hocker, Esqrs. of the county of Dauphin, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners to run and mark the division line between the said counties of Dauphin and Lebanon: beginning at the end of the division line between the said counties, running from Andrew Henryıs house, near Palmyra, in the county of Lebanon, to the top of the Blue mountain, thence continuing the said line by the same course to the top of the fourth ridge of the Blue mountain, and from thence a northeasterly course along the top of said ridge to the Schuylkill county line. SEC. 2. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the said commissioners shall be allowed a reasonable compensation for their time and expenses in performing the duties mentioned in the first section of this act, to be paid equally by the counties of Dauphin and Lebanon aforesaid, by orders drawn by the commissioners of said counties on their respective treasurers, in the usual manner. Kurtz, the undivided interest of her late husband, John De Pui, of, in, and to two parcels of land, situate in East Hanover township, Lebanon county, adjoining lands of James Beil, John Albert, the heirs of Henry Albert and Thomas Harper, one whereof is improved, and contains about thirty two acres, which deed of conveyance, when executed and delivered, shall be as good and valid as if the same had been executed and delivered by the said John De Pui in his lifetime: Provided That nothing herein contained shall be construed to interfere with, or affect the rights of third persons.
