The occasion was made memorable by a sumptuous turkey dinner which was served to a number of his friends at his home on South Railroad street. The invited guests were P. W. H. Bordner and wife, Frank Uhrich and wife, Dr. A. W. Gernert and wife, John Line and wife, John Moyer and Master Ralph Gassert. Scholars Will Give A Program The scholars in the North College street Secondary school taught by Miss Sadie Fasnacht will repeat the Washington Birthday program in the Keystone Hall next Thursday evening. The entertainment is said to be exceptionally good and an opportunity will be given the public to witness the reproduction. An admission of 10 cents will be charged reserved seats 15 cents. The proceeds will be for the benefit of the Keystone Fire Co. Sufficient Water At 80 Feet Myer & Bro., the local artesian well drillers on Tuesday morning completed drilling the well on the premises of S. T. Yost which is to furnish the water for the new artificial ice plant. At a depth of 80 feet more than sufficient water was struck to supply the ice plant. The water was within eight feet of the surface and with steady pumping for six hours the water in the well was only slightly reduced. The large 8 inch steam pump continually threw 2 1/2 gallons per minute. Last Bi-Monthly Meeting The third and last bi-monthly meeting of the Lebanon County Teacher's Association will be held this Friday evening, in the Assembly room, in the High School building, Lebanon. Prof. Allen G. Beckley of this place, was programmed for an address on "Nature Study in Public Instruction," but on account of the death and funeral of his grandfather was unable to attend. His paper on the subject however was read at the meeting. Quite a number of the pedagogues of this place attended the meeting. Returned From Sanitarium On Tuesday Dr. Gibson Bower returned from the Lebanon Sanitarium where he was successfully treated for an affection at his right leg which for years had occasioned him much pain and worriment. The member has been almost entirely cleaned of the disease and otherwise the Doctor presents a greatly improved appearance much to the gratification of his many friends. It is the purpose of Dr. Bower to renew the practice of medicine and will in the very near future open an office at a location in town as yet not decided. During the day, at the present time, Dr. Bower is located at the home of his brother Addison in the old Bower homestead opposite the Bahney House. Coover House Sold Tobias Arnold of the New Lebanon Brewing Co., Lebanon, on Friday became the owner of the Coover House. A. K. Sechrist the former owner and proprietor had two prospective buyers for the hostelry and negotiations were in progress about two months prior to the sale. Beside the new owner a Brewing Company of Reading was desirous of the hotel property. Mr. Sechrist the retiring owner purchased the hotel from the late Joseph S. Coover in 1904 for $8,500. The price received by Mr. Sechrist was $9,500. The retiring owner and proprietor will vacate the premises next month. He will be succeeded as proprietor by William Livengood, of North College street, who for years has served as bartender at the Eagle Hotel, Lebanon. Personals Prof. Spangler, wife and daughter Ruth of Lebanon Valley College Annville, and M. P. Spangler wife and daughter Edith of Lebanon, Miss Jennie Uhrich, of this place, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Uhrich, of West Myerstown on Sunday. Calvin A. Behney of Reading, was the guest of his father Cyrus L. Behney on Sunday. David J. Bechtold of Steelton, was the guest of his mother Mrs. Emma Bechtold on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Karsnitz, were the guests of the former's parents Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Karsnitz. Misses Mary Daub and Eva Eberly, and Messrs Paul Uhler and Chas. Dundon were guests of Mrs. and Mrs. Daniel Daub, over Sunday. J. Edwin Uhrich of Philadelphia, is spending a week's vacation with his mother Mrs. Mayberry Weiser. Jonathan L. Steiner and family entertained E. L. Garverich, wife and daughter Ruth, of Reading. Prof. C. S. Kelchner and family were guests of the former's father at Fleetwood on Sunday. Thomas Shanaman and Harry Snyder of Lebanon, were guests of Darius Dundore and family over Sunday. Mrs. and Mrs. Henry Batdorff residing north-west of town left on a two weeks' visit to their son Frank, at Burgoon, Ohio. Mr. McCarty, manager of the Stoever Foundry & Manufacturing Co., returned yesterday from a business trip to the New England States.
