Bergman, 92, formerly of 32 Vista Road, Wyomissing Hills, died Monday, March 2, 1998, in StoneRidge Skilled Nursing Unit, Myerstown, where he had lived for two years. He had been a resident of StoneRidge Village, Myerstown, since 1993. He was the husband of Sylvia G. Miller Bergman. Born in Adamstown, he was a son of the late Daniel H. and Ellen K. Hartman Bergman. He had been treasurer of Wyomissing Hills from 1970-1983 and was employed for 44 years as an interconnection coordinator by the former Metropolitan Edison Co., now GPU Energy. He retired in December, 1968. He was a member and councilman of the former St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Reading, and a member of the Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing. A 33rd degree Mason, he was master of Reading Lodge 549 F&AM in 1968. He was a secretary-treasurer of the board of managers of the Seventh Masonic District from 1971-1982. A 1923 graduate of the Reading High School for Boys, he was a 1927 graduate of the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, H. Barry, Greenlawn, N. Y.; a sister, Anna B., of Kenhorst, wife of the late Alex Wennell; and two grandchildren.
