Carver Brought from Cuba and Interred at Myerstown. The funeral of Harry T. Carver, late of Troop D, 7th U.S. Cavalry, took place at Myerstown yesterday, with military honors. Carver was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Morrie R. Carver, of Myerstown, and died on Dec. 31 last of typhoid fever at Columbia barracks, near Havana, Cuba. During the war with Spain he was a member of Co. C, Eighth Pennsylvania volunteers, and upon being honorably discharged enlisted in the regular service. The funeral was held from his old home, on Cherry street, with services in the United Brethren church, the officiating clergymen being the pastor, Rev. J. A. Keiper, Rev. J. P. Smith, of Avon, and Rev. D. S. Longenecker, of Lebanon. Six former comrades of Co. B, all of Chambersburg, were in attendance as honorary pallbearers. They were Sergeant Ed. Keefner, Corporal Charles Lurg, Privates George Holby, Will Zook, Crawford Weissburg, Hayes and Frank Mowrey. Capt. Wm. Tice Post, No. 471, G.A.R.,a nd Tulpehocken council, No. 841, Jr. O. U. A. M., sent delegations to the obsequies and had charge of the funeral. Interment took place on the Union cemetery, Myerstown. Lebanon Daily Times, April 12, 1900
