TWO YOUNG MOTHERS CALLED BY DEATH.

Mrs. R. J. Coover and Mrs. F. I. Reber Called From the Bed of Motherhood 
into Eternity - Sad Partings of Those Whose Lives had to be Sacrificed.

OTHER DEATHS

  The grim reaper of death has no mercy for loved ones and by its onward 
march the flowers of manhood are picked from the family circle and deposited 
in the little cities of the dead.  Of late Myerstown has been exceptionally 
unfortunate and today two young mothers are cold in death, having sacrificed 
their lives for new-born's and in both instances their absence will be 
keenly felt by the respective husbands, son and friends.  It is a sad week, 
indeed, and in the deaths of these two mothers, Mrs. R. J. Coover and Mrs. 
Frank L. Reber, the community mourns with those who are saddest in these 
hours of anguish.

MRS. R. J. COOVER

  Joy and sorrow met within two hours at the home of Mr. R. J. Coover on 
Tuesday morning.  As a boy baby had come to make glad the home the mother 
passed into eternity.  It was a sad parting.  Joyful of the advent of the 
new-born the mother was overtaken by unexpected hemorrhage and in the 
presence of her husband and Drs. H. D. Miller and A. S. Reiter the life of 
Mrs. Coover fled.  The sudden demise of this young mother was a shock to the 
community and the truth of it could hardly be realized.  Deceased was in the 
prime of her life being 29 years of age.  Surviving is her husband, and 
infant boy, besides her parents Mr. and Mrs. Isaac V. Miller and sister, 
Mrs. Frank B. Gass.
  Mrs. Coover was highly respected and besides a sorrowing family her death 
is mourned by a large circle of intimate friends.  She was a member of the 
Reformed Church, the Choir, Sunday School and Mite Society of same taking a 
great interest in each.
  The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock from the 
home of Mrs. Henrietta Coover.  Services will be conducted in the Reformed 
church by Rev. J. Lewis F*** the pastor, and Rev. I. Moyer Hershey, pastor 
of the U. B. church.  Interment on Mt. Hope cemetery.

CHURCHES INADEQUATE TO ACCOMMODATE FRIENDS

  The last sad rites over the remains of Mrs. Ralph J. Coover took place on 
Saturday afternoon.  On Friday evening a short service took place at the 
family home on East Main street.  Rev. I. Moyer Hershey pastor of the local 
U. B. church, was the officiating clergyman, and several selections were 
sung by a quartette of the same church.  Thereafter the remains were 
conveyed to the home of Mrs. Henrietta Coover, grandmother of the sorrowing 
husband, from where the funeral was held.  The remains were viewed by an 
exceptionally large number of people at the home where a short service was 
conducted by Rev. J. Lewis Fluck and Rev. I. Moyer Hershey.  Music was 
rendered by the Reformed choir.  Services proper were held in the Reformed 
church and were attended by a very large number of sorrowing friends.  All 
available space in the main auditorium was occupied, while a number were 
obliged to occupy standing room in the corridor.  Friends were in attendance 
from Philadelphia, Reading, Pottstown, Allentown, Lebanon, Harrisburg, 
Jonestown and other places Rev. J. Lewis Fluck, the pastor, and Rev. I. 
Moyer Hershey were the officiating clergymen, both of whom presented 
appropriate addresses.  The former based his remarks upon Genesis 35:16, 
while the latter spoke briefly from the words found in Ephesians 3:14-19.
  Mrs. Coover was a popular young lady and the high regard she commanded 
occasioned one of the largest funerals ever held in the Reformed church; 
many beautiful floral effects were presented as a last token of respect by 
admiring friends, comprising roses, carnations, narcissus, chrysanthemums 
and lilies of the valley boquets, besides a beautiful pillow of flowers 
bearing the words, "My Mary," from the husband.  
  The remains were life-like and attired in a handsome dress of white silk 
chiffon and reposed in a beautiful oak casket.
  After the services interment was made on the block of the Coover family on 
Mt. Hope Cemetery.
  The pallbearers were George S. Bleistein, Robert Crouse, Leighton F. Krum, 
William I. Kutz, Elmer S. Miller and John Wagner.
  The infant son of deceased, which occasioned this sad death, survives and 
is hale and hearty.
