He was aged 78 years on Christmas day. The wife of the deceased died only last Tuesday, and his death was seemingly due to sorrow, Mr. Koehler having been heart-broken ever since her death. He was a Civil War veteran, having been a member of the 200th Pa. Vol. One son, Melton Koehler, of Philadelphia, and two daughters, Mrs. Michael Schaeffer and Mrs. John A. Kleiser, of this city, survive. George Wagner and Mrs. Abraham Wentling are step-children. Additional Comments: Source: The newspaper clipping identification is not legible nor is the issue date legible. It is reasonable to assume the newspaper was from the Lebanon, PA “Times”, in 1902 after having researched the 1900 census record. Additional notes: Per the 1900 US Federal Census, Lebanon Co PA, Jonestown Borough, page 144B: William Koehler age 75 years old, born December 1824, in Prussia, and his parents born in Prussia, occupation is wheelwright, his wife of 43 years is Caroline age 72 years old, born Feb 1828 and the mother of 10 children but only 5 children alive at the time of this 1900 census. Should someone know the exact date of death for William Koehler, or anything else on his wife, please contact this submitter. Thank you.
