Miller shabodeho@aol.com December 6, 2007, 11:17 pm Lebanon Daily News on 12/3/2007 Batdorf, Franklin Pierce Franklin Pierce Batdorf LOWER PAXTON TWP Franklin Pierce Batdorf, 80, of Lower Paxton Township passed away Friday, November 30, 2007, at The Hershey Medical Center. He was born in Lebanon, Pa., on August 12, 1927, the son of the late Franklin and Eva (Hollinger) Batdorf. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Helen Deck Snyder and Stella Hartman. He retired as a food processor for Thomas J. Lipton Co. He was a graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School, member and deacon of First Church of the Brethren, Harrisburg, president of the Lower Paxton Golden Age Club, Lipton Retirees Organization, and was a former member of the Lower Paxton Golden Age Bowling League. Surviving are his wife, Janet Dodge Batdorf; four sons, Russell (Adrienne), South Hampton, N.J., Thomas (Sue), Andover, Ohio, Edward (Beth), Keene, N.H., and John (Bonnie), Lebanon; stepchildren, Richard Dodge (Donna), Landisburg, Nancy Dodge (Kerry Hendershot), Lubbock, Texas, and Steve Dodge, Princeton, N.J.; and 11 grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Tracey, Michael, Jake, Curry, Andrew, Josh, Nick, Mandy and Christopher; and seven step-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Shelby, Quentin, Kane, Agneta, Elle and Colman; as well as two great-grandchildren, Madison and Anthony. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at 1 p.m. at his church, The First Church of the Brethren, 219 Hummel Street, Harrisburg, Pa., with visitation one hour before the service. Interment will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
