  Robert W. Byford MT. GRETNA Robert W. Byford, 83, 218 Valley Road (P.O. Box 
  182) Mt. Gretna, Pa., died Tuesday, November 6, 2007, in the Pleasant View 
  Retirement Community, Manheim, Pa. He was the husband of Margaret Hicks Byford. 
  He was born in Woburn, Mass., on April 23, 1924, son of the late George E. and 
  Margaret Green Byford. He served as a U.S. Army medic during World War II, 
  having served aboard a hospital ship. He was a retired general manager for 
  Holiday Inn Corp., having trained at the Hotel Statler in Boston and later 
  managed inns in Virginia, South Carolina, Colorado and Boston. He had attended 
  Boston University. He had been a member of the Winchester MA finance committee 
  and the Mistic Glee Club. He had worshiped in the Episcopal faith and attended 
  the Unitarian Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by children, Robin 
  May, Mt. Gretna, William Byford, Winchester, Mass., Catherine, wife of Steven 
  Lilly, Lansdale, Pa.; grandchildren, Jonathan, husband of Athena Byford, 
  Woburn, Mass., Michael Byford, Winchester, Mass., Stephen Byford, Winchester, 
  Mass., Kristen Lilly, Lansdale, Pa., Sarah Lilly, Lansdale, Pa.; 
  greatgrandchildren, Mariesa Byford, Serena Byford and Nicholas Byford, all of 
  Woburn, Mass. He was preceded in death by sister, Dorothy Carpenter. Family 
  memorial services will be held at a later date in Winchester, Mass. In lieu of 
  flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Gretna Fire Co., Mt. 
  Gretna, PA 17064. The Rohland Funeral Home Inc., Lebanon, Pa., is in charge of 
  arrangements.
