BRUCE F. DITZLER PINE GROVE Bruce F. Ditzler, age 84, of South Tulpehocken Street, Pine Grove, passed away on Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, in the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon. Born on September 2, 1923, in Pine Grove, he was the son of the late Harry and Amanda Zerbe Ditzler. He graduated from Pine Grove High School and was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pine Grove. He had been employed as a small arms mechanic for the Army National Guard at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, retiring in 1983. He had been a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II, having served as a military policeman with Co. C, 101st MP Battalion. He received the World War II Victory Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. He was an active member of the Pine Grove American Legion Post 374 and the Pine Grove VFW Post 3432. Preceding him in death was his wife, Ruth A. Adams Ditzler, on December 29, 1991. Surviving are a daughter, Tory, wife of Larry Anspach of Pine Grove; three sons, Fred and wife Jayne Ditzler of Lebanon, Ted Ditzler and Keith Ditzler, both of Littlestown; two grandsons, Matt Ditzler and Todd Ditzler; a sister, Virginia Plomchok of Philadelphia; and a friend, LaRue Shollenberger of Pine Grove. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with SALM John Ziegler officiating. There will be viewing on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. with Masonic memorial services at 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, West Wood Street, Pine Grove. The family would prefer, in lieu of flowers, donations be given to St. John's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 222 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, PA 17963, in his memory.
