  Earl E. Eckert Sr. LEBANON Earl E. Eckert Sr., 70, 145 W. Main St., R5, 
  Lebanon, died Thursday, October 4, 2007, in his residence. He was the husband 
  of Rose M. "Penny" Nelson Eckert. He was born in Lawn on April 28, 1937, son of 
  the late Harry and Laura Sophia Preis Eckert. He was retired from the Bethlehem 
  Steel Corp., having worked at the Cornwall Mines, Lebanon plant and Millard's 
  Quarry. He was a member of Quentin United Church of Christ and QuentinRoosevelt 
  Lions Club, and was active in Relay for Life with the Friends and Family in 
  Memory of Chris Erb. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Earl E. 
  Jr. and wife Cindy Eckert, Jonestown; daughter, Kim, wife of David Erb, 
  Jonestown; four grandchildren; one greatgranddaughter; sisters, Jeanne Garrett, 
  Palmyra, Betty Daub, Palmyra, Dorothy Epler, Palmyra, and Hilda, wife of Earl 
  Dohner, Cornwall. He was preceded in death by brother, Carl Eckert, and sister, 
  June Gernert. Funeral Monday at 2 p.m. Rohland Funeral Home Inc., Fifth and 
  Cumberland streets, Lebanon, where a viewing will be held Monday beginning at 1 
  p.m. Interment Kimmerlings Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be 
  made to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, 100 Brown St., Suite 23, 
  Middletown, PA 17057.
