Ehrhart, 95, of the StoneRidge Village Campus Health Care Center, 450 E. Lincoln Ave., Myerstown, Pa., formerly of Airville, Pa., died Sunday, December 23, 2007, at the health care center. He was the husband of Mary E. Butts Ehrhart, to whom he was married 65 years on June 4. Born in Dallastown, Pa., on September 9, 1912, he was the son of the late Adam and Mary McDowell Ehrhart. He was a 1929 graduate of Dallastown High School, 1939 graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, where he received a B.A. degree, and graduated in 1942 from Lancaster Theological Seminary. From 1942-1952 he was pastor of St. David's UCC, Killinger, Pa., and Zion UCC, Rife, Pa. From 19521960 he was pastor of Redeemer UCC, Dushore, Pa.; St. Paul's UCC, Overton, Pa.; and St. Peter's UCC, Elkland Township, Pa. He had been chaplain of the Pennsylvania State Grange from 1960-1966. From 1960-1973 he served as pastor of Mt. Bethel UCC, McClure, Pa.; Samuel's UCC, RD 1 McClure, Pa.; and St. John's UCC, RD 2 McClure, Pa., becoming pastor emeritus of the previous three churches. From 1973-1982, he became pastor of Christ UCC, Leck Kill, Pa., and Salem UCC, Rough and Ready, Pa., where he also became pastor emeritus, retiring in 1982. He had also been involved in numerous church camps for 35 years. He and his wife entertained in many skits under the name of "Sense & Nonsense," for many years. He was a member of St. Paul's UCC, Dallastown, Pa., and enjoyed playing tennis. In addition to his wife he is survived by sons Thomas W., husband of Joanne Ehrhart, Annville, Pa., and David E., husband of Charlotte Ehrhart, Middletown, Pa.; four grandchildren; two greatgranddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Winifred "Timmy" Cohn in 1983, and nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 28, 2007, at 11 a.m. from St. Paul's UCC, 205 W. Main Street, Dallastown, Pa. Viewing Friday 10 a.m. at the church. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Lancaster, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
