Miller shabodeho@aol.com December 6, 2007, 12:21 am Lebanon Daily News on 12/1/2007 Erb, Dorothy M. Noll Dorothy Erb NEWMANSTOWN Dorothy M. Noll Erb, 87, died Friday, November 30, 2007. She was a resident of Cedar Haven since August 2001. She was born May 28, 1920, in Newmanstown, PA. She was the only child of the late Raymond J.A. and Emma H. Weidman Noll. She attended and graduated from Millcreek Township High School in 1938, and she was the first female student to play both saxophone and piano in school, while holding the honor of first chair in Millcreek's first School Orchestra. Dorothy also sang in the school choir and performed in class operettas. She was also a musician of the Sunday school orchestra of the Evangelical Church in Newmanstown and the Lebanon County Orchestra. Dorothy accepted the Lord while attending the Richland Church of the Brethren. She was the wife of Ephraim Adam Erb, Sr., who preceded her in death on March 28, 2007. She was his beloved wife and partner for 68 years. She was a homemaker and mother to 7 children: Elizabeth A. Dodson, spouse of the late Lawrence Dodson, Jr., of Lebanon; Nancy L. Younker-Torres, spouse of Jose Torres of Lebanon; Ephraim A. Erb Jr., spouse of Carol Erb of Myerstown; Sandra F. Erb of Myerstown; Robert C. Erb, spouse of Jean Erb of Bethel; Karen M. Eckert, spouse of Thomas Eckert of Lebanon; and Barbara J. Getz, spouse of Edward Getz of Lebanon; 12 grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren, and 1 greatgreat-grandchild. Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, December 4, 2007, from 9:30 a.m. at Mt. Zion Road Church of the Brethren, followed by service at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Richland Cemetery. Dorothy served along side her husband, the late Ephraim Erb Sr. in the Boy Scouts of America. She was the recepient of the "Boy Scouts of America Certificate of Appreciation" for her constant love and dedication, and the work and support she extended to all the scouts of Troop 19. Memorials can be sent to the church building fund. Dorothy was an active member of the Mt. Zion Road Church of the Brethren, 2087 Mt. Zion Road, Lebanon, Pa. 17046. "She did her best to serve the Lord, her family and her church and was a good example of Christian love and shared her faith with others."
