Strack Drive, Myerstown, died Thursday, December 13, 2007, in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Betty M. Shetter Klinger Heisey, with whom he married December 19, 1992. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Loraine F. Poorman Heisey. He was born on January 5, 1923, in Lebanon, the son of the late Harry Z. and Margie L. Bickle Heisey. He was self-employed for 43 years, having Heisey's Roofing, Myerstown. He served in the United States Army during World War II with the 127th AAA Gun Battalion, where he served in the 2nd Battle of England and in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of St. Jacobs Kimmerlings Church, Lebanon. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 23, Lebanon, where he was a life member; the Lebanon American Legion; Washington Fire Co. since 1950, where he served as chief for over 10 years; Mt. Zion Fire Co. life member; Friendship Fire Co.; Lebanon County Fireman's Association; and the Lebanon Maennerchor. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Richard E. Heisey, Lebanon, and Michael E. Klinger, husband of Rose, Myerstown; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia F. Heisey; sisters, Florence Heisey, Catherine Leibich, and Helen Howard; brothers, Alfred and Russel Heisey. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 17, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the St. Jacobs Kimmerlings Church, 1 St. Jacob's Drive, Lebanon. Interment will be held in the Grandview Memorial Park, Annville. Friends will be received on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1274, Lebanon, PA 17042; or to the St. Jacobs Kimmerlings Church.
