  Dora Dougherty Kern JONESTOWN Dora Dougherty Kern, 92, of ManorCare and 
  formerly of Jonestown, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2007, at 
  ManorCare. She was the wife of the late Curtis F. Kern. Born in Lickdale, on 
  September 24, 1915, she was the daughter of the late William and Almeta 
  Dougherty Peiffer. She was a member of the Jonestown United Methodist Church. 
  She and her husband owned and operated the former Kern's Self Service Grocery 
  in Jonestown. She is survived by her sons Bruce L. Kern of Jonestown and Glenn 
  D., husband of Maria Kern of Fredericksburg; a sister Eleanor Weirich of 
  Palmyra; and grandsons Michael, husband of Karen Kern of Shermansdale, and 
  Joseph Kern of Kamuela, Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her sisters Mary 
  Boland, Alice Lash and Gertrude Peiffer. Graveside service will be held on 
  Thursday, December 27, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Zion's Evangelical Lutheran 
  Cemetery, Jonestown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 
  her church at P.O. Box 750, Jonestown, PA 17038. Strauss-Kreamer & Lum Funeral
