He was born October 1, 1929, in Lebanon, a son of the late Mesho and Mary Szeckeres Marinkov. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church of Iona. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mishi was a noted athlete at Lebanon High School and was in the school's hall of fame for his football skills. He had attended the Fort Union Military Academy and played football in college and during his time in the U.S. Army. He started and was the first coach of the first little league football team in Lebanon sponsored by the Jaycees. He also had coached the Knights of Columbus team. He was elected into and was the past president of the Central Chapter Pa. Sports Hall of Fame and was a member of the Lebanon VFW Post No. 23 and the Serbian Orthodox Club. He was a retired dispatcher from MetEd and also had served as a security guard in the Lebanon Municipal Building. Surviving are wife Mary Jane Boyer Marinkov of Lebanon; daughter Jan, spouse of Keith Beebe of Camp Hill; siblings John Marinkov of Lebanon, George Marinkov of Collegeville, Steve Marinkov of Lebanon, Michael Marinkov of Lebanon, and sister Natalie Miller of Lebanon; grandsons Brent, spouse of Tabitha Beebe in the U.S. Coast Guard of Salisbury, Massachusetts, and Branden Beebe in the Pa. National Guard of Carlisle; and 13 nieces and nephews. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, October 8, 2007, from 6-8 p.m. at Zion United Methodist Church of Iona, 1920 S. Fifth Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042. Services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the church. Memorials can be sent to his church.
