Miller shabodeho@aol.com November 12, 2007, 8:51 pm Lebanon Daily News on 11/12/2007 Peffley, John William John William Peffley 11/11/23-10/18/07 PALYMRA John William Peffley passed away on October 18, 2007. John suffered for many years with Alzheimer's disease and is now released from his struggle. John was a World War II veteran, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and a retiree of Verizon (formerly Bell Atlantic). He enjoyed recreational and social activities with "the gang" such as golfing, bowling, playing cards, dancing and dining. John was creative and precise with his building of model dollhouses, airplanes and miniatures. As a young man he enjoyed piloting small planes and was a bit of a show-off with his passengers. John is proceeded in death by his first wife Evelyn (Wood) Peffley his second wife Teresa (Horn) Peffley, his father William Peffley, stepmother Pauline Peffley and his mother Gladys Myers. John is survived by his daughter Jeanne Peffley and her life partner Cathie Gillen, his daughter Elaine Kramer and her husband Dane Kramer, his grandson Jason Kramer, many brothers and sisters in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. John lived the last seven months of his life in Northern California near his daughter Jeanne. Prior to that he resided in Palmyra with his wife Teresa. He was very proud of his yard and his garden of vegetables and flowers, spring was an especially enjoyable time for him. A memorial service for John will be planned in the springtime.
